Washington Street Community Center - Denver
WSCC provides programs for Seniors (luncheons, trips, friendly visitor, exercise classes, respite care). Benefits as a member of WSCC's Senior program include education, nutrition, socialization, health care and volunteerism. Annual Membership is just $25. Nutrition: Senior Luncheons every Tuesday and Wednesday at noon; community breakfast first three Fridays 8:30-10 a.m., all ages welcome. Outings: Various excursions are planned monthly. These trips may include dinner theatre, seasonal tours, lectures, stock show, circus, etc. Cost varies per trip. Wellness: Senior Keep Moving exercise class, Tuesdays & Thursdays 8:30-9:30 a.m., $10 per month; Health Care Clinic, three Wednesdays monthly 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. includes health screening, nail care, blood pressure and sugar checks, etc. Cost varies with services provided. Special clinics are scheduled throughout the year. Transportation: The Center is located five blocks west of the #12 RTD bus route. Attendees may also use private transportation or RTD's Access-A-Ride service. Limited provision for transportation is available through the Center for $1 round trip. The Washington Street Community Center is located at 809 South Washington Street, at the intersection of Ohio and S. Washington, in the West Washington Park neighborhood of Denver, Colorado.
