Although famous for heavy snow-filled winters and frigid winters, Minnesota has a lot to offer seniors in retirement. With many lakes, Minnesota is a fishing paradise. You can also get a boat out on the lakes and enjoy being outdoors during the warmer parts of the year.

Minnesota is also home to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. It has almost 2,000 doctors with a unique medical focus. About 80% of their patients are treated outpatient which means you can have procedures done without having to check in and be uncomfortable.

Overall, Minnesota is a great retirement destination for the senior who doesn’t mind snow (and can pay someone to shovel their driveway for them) and seniors who want to be able to visit a nearby lake for a nature retreat.
